REALTOR Roundup
The Greater Tyler Association of Realtors held its inaugural “Realtor Roundup” education fair and trade show on April 7, 2011.
Dr. Lawrence Yun, chief economist and senior vice president of research for the National Association of Realtors, gave the keynote address early morning at the Greater Tyler Association of Realtors new facility, 2772 SSE Loop 323 in Tyler.
Yun, who has been with the national association since 2000, has been listed among the top eight economic forecasters in the country by USA Today. He directs research activity for the association and regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends for its 1.2 realtor members. He creates the association’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, appears on financial news outlets and speaks at real estate conferences throughout the country. He also has worked as an economic consultant to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Department of Education.
The public was invited to attend Yun’s address while enjoying a continental breakfast .
Realtor members had a full day of continuing education, technology training, round tables and a wine and cheese party, as well as a trade show with vendors from the affiliated real estate industries.
Educational events for realtors included a Legal Counsel Round Table with Tom Morgan, chief legal counsel for Texas Association of Realtors; Steven Dement, owner of Landmark Title and counsel to the Greater Tyler Association of Realtors; and Jerry L. Atherton and John M. Hardy, both of Hardy & Atherton, PC. The lunch speaker was Travis Kessler, president/CEO of the Texas Association of Realtors.
